After retiring from teaching duties in 1998, he began writing: at first, humorous short stories from his early days of teaching in the 70s. Then in 1999, he wrote his first novel, the autobiographical Chalk. In 2000, Barber penned his first work of fiction, The Enclave. In 2001, the tragedy of 9/11 inspired The Internet Stalker (now called Terror in Manhattan). Next came, in late 2002, the sequel, Jihad. Terror Australis followed in 2003. Completed in early 2005, The Assassin is his latest work. Barber's two children are grown up. He resides in sunny South Australia with his wife. These days, when not engrossed in a project, he spends most of his leisure time reading mystery thrillers and enjoying his delightful young grand daughter, and taking his dog on long walks. | Media KitNone available at the present time.
