MMP Announces Availability of Downloadable Video Releases

MMP is now releasing some of its popular DVD titles as downloadable videos that can be viewed with Windows Media Player, making instant delivery of video content available to our customers.

Oshawa, Ontario (MMPUBS.COM) 29 April 2010 -- With more and more of our customers switching from physical media (Audio CD) sales to downloadable (MP3) sales, there has been a parallel shift in demand to make our DVDs available as video files downloadable over the Internet. To meet this consumer demand, Multi-Media Publications Inc. has released seven of its popular DVD titles in a downloadable format.

The new offerings can be purchased, downloaded, and played back on any computer or smart phone capable of playing Windows Media Video (WMV) files: essentially, any fairly recent computer, handheld device, or smart phone running a version of the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Alba Aguanno, MMP President, believes that the new downloadable video formats will be a success, saying "Our customers have spoken, and we have listened. While we've been pioneers in ebooks since the late 1980s -- when we used to ship ebooks on floppy disks in the mail -- and we've been selling audiobooks since the early 1990s when they were on audio cassettes. We only started offering our audiobooks in downloadable MP3 format in the last 3-4 years as the popularity of iPods and other MP3 players took off. Now, with the popularity of video on handheld devices like smart phones, we have received an unprecedented number of requests to make our DVDs available for these devices. People want to learn while they commute and while they work out, making the most of their precious time. We've now made a commitment to supporting this shift in consumer demand. Keep an eye out for many new titles from us in this exciting new format."

Initially, the following seven titles are being made available:

"Evolutionary Architecture in an Agile World" by Matthew Ganis
"Agile is NOT Just for Software" by William Krebs
"Introduction to User Stories" by William Krebs
"Project Scapegoats: Lessons from the Titanic Project" by Mark Kozak-Holland
"The Great Escape: Lessons in Project Management" by Mark Kozak-Holland
"Capital Project Cost Control" by Morley Selver
"The Agile Planning Game: Rapid Estimating and Scheduling for High-Change Projects" by Kevin Aguanno

As with the MMP DVDs, professionals may be eligible for continuing education credits for watching these downloadable videos. For example, Project Management Professionals (PMPs) can earn 1 PDU for every hour of downloadable video they watch on project management topics, provided that they maintain appropriate documentation. In this case, PDUs would be claimed under category 2sdl (self-directed learning).
